starting out
I've often been told I should keep writing, so I ended up here.
What do I plan to do here? I'm not sure yet. What seems like a lifetime ago, I wrote pseudonymous responses for BYU's 100 Hour Board. I expect the same thing that interested me most there—namely, how to be religious and reconcile one's faith even when it seems to contradict or oppose science, reason, or one's own personal ethics—will be my primary interest here.
A lot has changed since then. I've come out of the closet, both to myself and to others, to mixed reception. I have years of hindsight to reexamine what I believed then as an undergrad at BYU and what I believe now, especially in light of America's political disintegration and my own drift leftward in recent years. I've come to understand LGBTQ experiences and questions on a level far more personal than I could possibly have imagined even five years ago. But my love of the written word is as constant now as it was then. We'll see if I can find anything interesting to say while I'm pitching my tent here.
